Meet Your Needs
Just as the moon waxes and wanes, we, too, are always in motion—always becoming.
For a moment, just pause and reset your vibe. For us to have the space and capacity to be present for each other, we need to meet our own needs first.
The moon spirals forward and so will we. Allow things in your life to ebb and flow, have new beginnings and releases, go dark and shine.
Let’s contemplate the moon’s cycles of light and dark, rest and action.
A small body that reflects the light of its larger source illuminates the dark!
Even in the vastness of space, where shadows stretch endlessly, the moon catches the sun’s light and offers it back to us as reassurance that even in the deepest night, light always finds a way through it.
And then there’s the other side of La Lune—the part shrouded in darkness, steeped in mystery. Unknowns, black holes, shadows, and fears. Imagine our ancestors, who stared up at the night sky, wondering, worrying in the dark, especially during an eclipse! They must have had so many questions, so much uncertainty—until, at last, the first glimpse of a crescent of light. The moon was there all along, just unseen.
What a relief it must have been to witness that glow returning! To know that even in the void, a cycle was at work, an unseen rhythm of renewal and return.
The moon reminds us that just because we can’t see something, doesn’t mean it isn’t there.
Hope, love, resilience—these things don’t vanish, even when they feel distant. They are simply waiting for their moment to shine again.
So when life feels uncertain, when darkness settles in and the way forward is unclear, remember: You, too, can reflect light. You, too, are part of a greater cycle, where every ending holds the seed of a new beginning. The moon always returns. And so will your light.
As kids, some of us relished the dark—turning shadows into stories, letting the unknown hum with possibility. We’d spook ourselves for the thrill of it, sensing the edge of something just beyond sight. But as adults, we tend to trade those imaginings for the practicalities of daily life: safety, food, shelter, belonging. The basics that keep us grounded, the things we chase when we feel we are lacking.
To go beyond that takes great imagination. It requires both choice and commitment to create, connect, and contribute to a greater vision of the world.
Yet, progress isn’t linear—it’s a spiral. We cycle through times of expansion and times of contraction. Sometimes, life calls us back to the basics, reminding us to tend to our roots before we can grow again. And that’s okay.
There is wisdom in honoring where we are, even when the path seems to loop back on itself. The key is to remember that just as the moon waxes and wanes, we, too, are always in motion—always becoming.
